Idyllic North Wales

You could spend weeks discovering the countryside that immediately surrounds Caerwys Park – after all, you’re at the foot of the quiet Clwydian Range of hills that stretch from the coast all the way to Llangollen. They’re one of only eight Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the whole of Wales and with so many footpaths and peaceful lanes to explore, this is a haven for walkers and cyclists.

Seaside towns and stunning views

Once you get in the car, you’re only minutes from the coast, with its seaside towns of Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, which features a wonderful Victorian esplanade and pier. There’s also the Great Orme, a magnificent hilly promontory above Llandudno, and accessible by a wonderful Victorian tram service from the town centre. The views from the Great Orme are stunning – and you can also visit the oldest copper mines in Britain, which are located at the summit.

Castles, coastlines and mountains

Historic Conwy and Caernarfon (with their magnificent castles) are also within an easy drive of Caerwys View, and the island of Anglesey can be reached across the magnificent Menai Bridge at Bangor, giving you access to miles of unspoilt coastline and the fine Victorian seaside town of Beaumaris. Snowdonia offers a wealth of activities – walking, climbing and mountain-biking – or simply enjoying the superb views, plus the picturesque villages of Llanberis, Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed.

  Caerwys

  Once the home of the Eisteddfod and the smallest town in Britain with a royal charter, Caerwys has excellent local shops and services, plus a good choice of traditional pubs and excellent restaurants. The town centre is a conservation area.

  St. Asaph (9 miles)

  A small but exquisite cathedral city with a history stretching back to 560AD, St. Asaph is the gateway to the lovely Vale of Clwyd.

  There are sixteen golf courses within thirty minutes’ drive of Caerwys View and if you’re looking for a shorter drive to the golf club of your choice, the following are between 15 and 20 minutes away: Rhyl, Holywell, Prestatyn, Rhuddlan, Flint and Northop Country Park.

  Fishing

  Castles

  This is a land of ancient conquest and conflict and many castles bear witness to a turbulent past. See excellent examples at Caernarfon, Chirk and Conwy plus Denbigh. Dinas Bran, Ewloe, Flint, Hawarden and Rhuddlan.

  There are greens at Caerwys, Prestatyn, Rhyl, St. Asaph and Mold.
